Every Heart of England student trains by the five tenets set down by General Choi Hong Hi — values that go far beyond the dojang.
Respect for instructors, seniors and fellow students — inside and outside the dojang.
Knowing right from wrong, and having the conscience to feel guilt when wrong.
Patience and persistence to achieve a goal, one step and one technique at a time.
Control of mind and body — vital in training, sparring and everyday life.

The art
Taekwon-Do is a Korean martial art known for its dynamic kicking techniques, agility and discipline. It is both a self-defence system and a philosophy of life — fostering confidence, fitness and respect.
We practise ITF Taekwon-Do — the International Taekwon-Do Federation style founded in 1966 by General Choi Hong Hi. ITF emphasises traditional values, self-defence and the precise performance of patterns (tul), uniting mind and body.
